Female Offenders Receive Leadership Training
(Goffstown, NH) The New Hampshire Department of Corrections announces that nine female offenders at the New Hampshire State Prison for Women in Goffstown graduated from a four-day leadership training program on May 29, 2007. The training was sponsored by the New Hampshire Task Force on Women and Recovery.
The workshops, which are offered one or two times per year, provide the women with tools and resources to empower them to find their inner strength and set visions and goals for the future. The workshops were presented by two trained facilitators over two consecutive weekends.
Corrections Commissioner William L. Wrenn said, “We appreciate the support that groups such as this provide to the inmate population. Their programs are vital to the well-being and the rehabilitation of offenders.”
The organization is planning to return to the Goffstown facility in the fall to provide more leadership training opportunities for offenders.
