NH Department of Corrections Employee Recognized With State Award

(Concord, NH) The New Hampshire Department of Corrections is proud to announce that Human Resources Assistant III Gina A. Quimby was a recipient of a State of New Hampshire Extraordinary Service Award. She was recognized by the Governor and Executive Council at its regular meeting on March 21, 2007.

The Employee Suggestion and Extraordinary Service Award Program was implemented in 2005 under RSA 99-E. A $10,000 fund was established in the Governor’s Office to provide monetary awards to recommended nominees.

Mrs. Quimby devised a way to identify employees who were carrying ineligible dependents on their health plans, which was causing an agency to pay more in health premiums than necessary. Through this process, the Department of Corrections was able to remove in eligible individuals from coverage, resulting in an estimated $80,000 in savings.

Mrs. Quimby has been employed with the Department’s Human Resources Office since 1993.
