NH-DOC SEEKS TO DELIVER UNCLAIMED COURT-ORDERED PAYMENTS
(Concord, NH) The New Hampshire Department of Corrections Division of Field Services announced that it seeks recipients of more than $300,000 in unclaimed court-ordered payments. The list of 955 recipients is being published on the NH-DOC website.
Court-ordered restitution payments are made by offenders as decided by the sentencing court. The Division of Field Services is responsible for supervising and dispersing these payments to the recipients.
"In most cases these checks were returned to the department because the recipients had changed their address and left no forwarding address," said Michael McAlister, Acting Director of the Division of Field Services.
"It is our hope that by publishing this list these recipients will come forward and claim what is owed to them," Acting Director McAlister added.
The list will remain online until November 30, 2004. After that the remaining funds will revert to the New Hampshire Victim Assistance Fund where they can still be claimed.
If you think your name is on list please call (603) 271-5652. You will be asked a series of questions to verify identification.
