DIGITAL RADIOS DISTRIBUTED TO PROBATION/PAROLE OFFICERS
(Concord, NH) New Hampshire Department of Corrections, Division of Field Services Director Larry Blaisdell announced that over 80 digital two-way radios were distributed to Probation/Parole officers this month thanks to a federal grant. The $297,603 federal grant from the U.S. Department of Justice, Office of Justice Programs is funding mobile digital radios for state vehicles, portable digital radios for staff, and remote microphones for use with digital portable radios.
Director Blaisdell stated, "New Hampshire law enforcement agencies are switching more to digital radios and we have to keep up with these technological advances. We need to communicate regularly with other law enforcement agencies as part of the job. This federal grant will help us do just that."
Probation/Parole Officers began receiving training on February 17 for the proper use of this new equipment.
"I would like to thank U.S. Senator Judd Gregg and First District Executive Councilor Ray Burton for assisting DOC in obtaining this grant," Director Blaisdell added. |
