NH DEPT. OF CORRECTIONS ANNOUNCES EMPLOYEE AWARD WINNERS

(Concord, NH) New Hampshire Corrections Commissioner Phil Stanley offered his congratulations to staff that were recipients of employee recognition awards. An awards ceremony was held on May 9, 2003 in honor of NH Correctional Employees Appreciation Week.

1. NH State Prison, Concord: Corrections Officer of the Year: CO Phil Hill; Non-Uniformed Employee of the Year: Ken Scholz, Vocational Instructor; Team of the Year: Maintenance facility

2. NH State Prison/Women, Goffstown: Corrections Officer of the Year: CO Valerie Brooks; Non-Uniformed Employee of the Year: Jeanne North, Teacher; Team of the Year: Medical Staff

3. Lakes Region Facility, Laconia: Corrections Officers of the Year: CO Rocky Bean, Cpl. Andrew Sargent, CO Scott Towers; Non-Uniformed Employee of the Year: Denise McKeen, Classification Administrator; Team of the Year: Medical Department

4. Northern NH Correctional Facility, Berlin: Corrections Officers of the Year: CO Angela LaBonte, CO Jessica Simino, CO Diane Beckwith; Non-Uniformed Employee of the Year: Carol Delisle, Registered Nurse; Team of the Year: Third Shift Security

5. Division of Field Services, Concord: Officer of the Year: Probation/Parole Officer Stefan Cimikowski; Non-Uniformed Employee of the Year: Kathleen McCormack, Interstate Compact Administrator; Team of the Year: Exeter District Office

6. Community Corrections, Concord: Corrections Officer of the Year: CO Darren Bazoukas, Non-Uniformed Employee of the Year: Acting-Unit Manager Grady Alexander; Team of the Year: Summit House Aftercare Counselors.

7. Headquarters, Concord: Employee of the Year: Jeff Lyons, Public Information Officer; Team of the Year: Bureau of Training.

Eight (8) Corrections Officers were recipients of medals of honor.

2. Corrections Corporal Bryan Raposa - Life Saving Award

3. Corrections Sergeant Timothy Hallam - Honorable Service Award

4. Corrections Officer Chance Johnmeyer - Team Commendation Award

5. Corrections Sergeant Normand Marquis - Team Commendation Award

6. Corrections Officer John Norton - Team Commendation Award

7. Corrections Officer Melissa Smialek - Team Commendation Award

8. Corrections Officer Pedro Rios-Rivera - Team Commendation Award
