NH DEPT. OF CORRECTIONS TO RECOGNIZE VOLUNTEERS
(Concord, NH) New Hampshire Department of Corrections Commissioner Phil Stanley announced that the NH State Prison will recognize the men and women who volunteer their time to help offenders better themselves. Volunteer Appreciation activities will occur at each prison this spring.
Commissioner Stanley stated, "Over 800 people visit our institutions annually to provide counseling, support groups, hands-on skills, and programming that might not be available otherwise."
"These services support the rehabilitation efforts for offenders at no cost to New Hampshire taxpayers," Commissioner Stanley added.
The NH State Prison Volunteer Appreciation event will occur on May 12, 2003 at 6:00 PM. Similar ceremonies occurred in April at the NH State Prison for Women, Goffstown; Lakes Region Facility, Laconia; and the Northern NH Correctional Facility, Berlin. |
