NH DEPT. OF CORRECTIONS TO RECOGNIZE ITS EMPLOYEES

(Concord, NH) NH Department of Corrections Commissioner Phil Stanley announced that New Hampshire Corrections Employee Appreciation Week is May 5-9, 2003. The event is celebrated as part of National Correctional Employees Week.

Commissioner Stanley said, "This is a time to recognize the contributions that each DOC employee makes on a daily basis for offender change."

"The over 1,100 DOC employees respond professionally doing the hard work of Corrections," Commissioner Stanley added.

An awards ceremony will occur on Friday, May 9 at 1:00 PM the NH Police Standards and Training Council Tact Center in Concord. The department will hand out 26 awards for Employees of the Year and Teams of the Year. Eight Corrections Officers will also receive medals for going above and beyond the call of duty.
