THE NH DEPARTMENT OF CORRECTIONS ANNUAL REPORT AVAILABLE ON THE WORLD WIDE WEB
(Concord, NH) The New Hampshire Department of Corrections announced that its Fiscal Year 2001 Annual Report is now available on the Internet. This is the first time that the report has been so readily accessible to the general public.
The 89-page report details statistical, financial, and descriptive information about the DOC for the period of July 1, 2000 to June 30, 2001. The report also provides a large amount of comparative statistical data about department expenditures and activities over the previous five years.
DOC Commissioner Phil Stanley said, "It is important that the state's taxpayers and the general public get a real understanding of what the Department of Corrections is all about. This comprehensive report provides an abundant amount of information and I am pleased that they will have greater access to it thanks to the Internet."
By state statute, the Department of Corrections must annually publish and distribute a report (RSA 21-H:8-X). It has traditionally been available in published form through libraries and through the department by request. Now, the annual report will be available 24 hours per day by visiting www.state.nh.us/nhdoc
