NEW HAMPSHIRE STATE PRISON INMATES DONATE FUNDS TO DISASTER RELIEF EFFORTS
(Concord, NH) The New Hampshire Department of Corrections reports that inmates from the New Hampshire State Prison in Concord have donated more than $2,000 to the American Red Cross National Disaster Relief Fund. The donations will be used to assist with rescue and recovery efforts from the September 11, 2001 attack.
217 inmates (or approximately 16% of the facility's population) collected $2,070.50 after meeting with New Hampshire Red Cross representatives from October 4-11, 2001 at the Concord prison. Offenders submitted fund cash withdrawal slips from inmate accounts to voluntarily collect the donations. |
