John H. SununuJohn H. Sununu (1983-1987). Born at Havana, Cuba. Boston area mechanical engineer and businessman

Sununu (1939 - ) earned his undergraduate and graduate degrees at Massachusetts Institute of technology (Ph.D. in mechanical engineering , 1966). He founded two technology companies on Boston's Route 128 (1965 - 1983), commuting to work from his Salem (NH) home during those years.

Sununu entered the 1982 New Hampshire Republican primary, won the primary and defeated Hugh Gallen in the 1982 election. He served three terms as governor. A strong believer in computers in the schools and in the workplace, Sununu's official portrait includes a personal computer.
