Mary Kate Ryan joins the DHR Staff as our new State Survey Coordinator

Mary Kate Ryan is the Division of Historical Resources’ new Survey and Inventory Coordinator.  For the past 5 years, she was the architectural historian for the State Historical Society of North Dakota where she managed the National Register of Historic Places program.  Prior to that, she worked briefly for the Oregon State Historic Preservation Office in the National Register and Federal Tax Incentives programs. 

Mary Kate has an MA in architectural history from the University of Oregon in Eugene and a BA in art history-English
literature from Agnes Scott College in Decatur, Georgia.  She is excited to be in New England, which may have
older built history than any place she’s worked before.
