Registration for N.H. Pro Theatre Auditions and Job Fair ends Feb. 10

New Hampshire students and others interested in working in professional theatre are encouraged to register for the upcoming 2012 New Hampshire Professional Theatre Association Auditions and Job Fair, scheduled to take place at Plymouth State University’s Silver Center for the Arts on February 25 from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Every summer and fall, hundreds of people work in New Hampshire’s professional theatre industry. In addition to on-stage roles, opportunities exist to work in costume, set and lighting design, as well as in several business capacities.

The New Hampshire Professional Theatre Association Auditions and Job Fair is open to:

  • Students enrolled in New Hampshire colleges and universities
  • New Hampshire residents enrolled in colleges and universities elsewhere
  • Working actors 18 and older who are New Hampshire residents
  • Adult New Hampshire residents interested in working backstage or in marketing, administrative or box office positions.

Preregistration for the New Hampshire Professional Theatre Association Auditions and Job Fair is required and must be completed online or postmarked by February 10, 2012. Cost is $15 for enrolled undergraduate students, $20 for non-students. To learn more and to register for the event, visit http://oz.plymouth.edu/~mkizer/NHPTA.

New Hampshire has been a mainstay of professional theatre and theatre arts for well over a century. The New Hampshire Professional Theatre Association Auditions and Job Fair began as a way to offer opportunities for New Hampshire students interested in theatre to find jobs in their home state.

Now in its fifth year, this event is just one project to come out of the Governor’s Jobs Cabinet, which focuses on creating and identifying job opportunities statewide. It is a partnership of the New Hampshire Professional Theatre Association, Plymouth State University and the New Hampshire Department of Cultural Resources.
