NH Arts in Education Conference: October 22-24
Teaching artists, educators, parents and community arts leaders are encouraged to attend the New Hampshire State Council on the Arts’ 2010 Arts in Education Conference, “Field of Vision,” which takes place from October 22-24, 2010 at the AMC Highland Center, Crawford Notch, Bretton Woods, NH.
The conference will explore a wide range of arts in education topics, including: “Geometry in Art,” “Math of Music,” “Science and Dance,” “Integrating the Arts to Improve Literacy,” “Using Improv Theatre to Build Resiliency in Youth” and many others. Attendees will also have the opportunity to work on a community tile mural project led by artist educator Robert Rossel.
Dr. James S. Catterall, internationally respected researcher of how arts education affects youth, and author of Doing Well and Doing Good by Doing Art, will give the keynote address.
Those interested in attending the conference may register for the entire three days or select single-day registration for Friday or Saturday.
The New Hampshire State Council on the Arts’ conference partners include: the Arts Alliance of Northern NH; the National Endowment for the Arts; Extending the Dance Map, a Northern New England Rural Dance Initiative; ArtVenturesNewHampshire, a program of the Crotched Mountain Foundation; and the Mountain Washington Hotel Resort.
