Inspired by New Hampshire: A New Listing
Augustus Saint-Gaudens. Thornton Wilder. Willa Cather. Amy Beach. New Hampshire has provided inspiration for visual artist, writers, composers, dancers, and the like for over 300 years. American Masterpieces: New Hampshire Inspirations, an initiative of the National Endowment for the Arts, provides grant funds to support presenting, touring, and/or teaching of artistic masterpieces of national significance that have a connection to the Granite State. To help organizations plan projects for the grant category (and remember, they must include a creative educational component), the State Arts Council has put together a list of some of the many prominent artists with New Hampshire ties. New England College Offers Poetry Out Loud Scholarship in New Hampshire
New Hampshire high school students who are finalists or alternates in the Poetry Out Loud competition now have a chance to win a scholarship to New England College. The Henniker liberal arts school is offering a scholarship of from $10,000 to $15,000 per year, depending on the student’s grade point average.
New Hampshire Poetry Out Loud is sponsored by the New Hampshire State Council on the Arts (NHSCA), the National Endowment for the Arts, and The Poetry Foundation, in cooperation with the Monadnock Writers Group, the New Hampshire Charitable Foundation, New Hampshire Writers Project, the Poetry Society of New Hampshire, the Arts Alliance of Northern New Hampshire, and the Frost Place in Franconia.
