Follow the Passion
The State Arts Council and the Arts Alliance of Northern New Hampshire are sponsoring an upcoming event that will be of interest to performing, literary, and visual artists, along with artist-educators. Follow the Passion: An Exploration of the Arts, Literacy & Creativity in Education, takes place Friday, May 28, from 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at Kearsarge Region High School in North Sutton, N.H. The day will feature multi-media presentations and conversations with award-winning poet, author, and educator Wesley McNair and dancer, artist-educator, visual artist, and poet Katherine Ferrier, facilitated by author Rebecca Rule. It will provide an opportunity to learn about new educational resources that support poetry, dance, and interdisciplinary studies. Participants are invited to a post-presentation picnic and hike at Rollins State Park. Early registration is $60 and includes lunch. Business and the Arts Awards Gala is May 17
The 26th annual Business in the Arts Awards will be held Monday, May 17 at 5:30 p.m. at the Center of New Hampshire – Radisson Hotel in Manchester. Sponsored by the New Hampshire Business Committee for the Arts, the gala will honor the 29 New Hampshire businesses nominated for this year’s awards. The evening highlights a celebration of business support for the arts and entertains with a performance showcase of drama, literature and music. The grand finale is the announcement of the winners.
The twenty-nine businesses were nominated for their sponsorships, employee volunteerism, and donations of products and services in support of the arts.
