National Endowment for the Arts Funding Opportunity

Starting in 2007 in the area of Presenting the NEA now has a separate focus and panel for Outdoor Festivals, Programs and Outdoor Dramas.  The deadline is March 12, 2007.

The grant category in which this program falls is called "Access to Artistic Excellence."  It is designed to encourage and support artistic excellence, preserve our cultural heritage, and provide access to the arts for all Americans.  An organization may request a grant amount from $5,000 to $150,000. For information and guidelines, copy this url onto your browser:http://www.arts.gov/grants/apply/GAP08/PresentingAAE.html If, after looking at the guidelines on NEA's web site, you have questions about the process of applying, please call Silvio Lim, the Presenting Specialist, at 202-682-5658.  The NEA Presenting staff will be happy to help you in any way they can.March 12, 2007, Application Deadline
January 1, 2008, Earliest Beginning Date for Arts Endowment Period of Support
  • Artist communities and residency programs.
  • Training programs for artists.
  • The creation, commissioning, touring, and/or presentation of new or remounted works. This may include performances, exhibitions, festivals, residencies, lecture-demonstrations, and workshops as well as works that integrate a range of digital technology.
  • Outdoor festivals and programs including site-specific work, outdoor dramas, and pageants.
Please note:  The NEA is transitioning to requiring organizations to file electronically through Grants.gov, the federal government's online application system. It is optional this year, but mandatory in 2008.  To apply electronically, organizations need to register with Grants.gov as soon as possible. This one-time registration process must be completed before you can submit your grant application.  The process can take twoweeks, so it is extremely important that you begin the registration process immediately. Again, the deadline for applications is March 12. The website for the NEA is www.NEA.gov. Thank you. Mario Garcia Durham Director of Presenting direct 202-682-5469 alt. direct 202-682-5510 fax 202-682-5002
