NOMINATIONS OPEN FOR BUSINESS IN THE ARTS AWARDS
Nominations are now being accepted for the 2008 Business in the Arts Awards. The Awards are sponsored by the New Hampshire Business Committee for the Arts to publicly recognize and honor businesses and individual business leaders for their significant impact on New Hampshire's arts and cultural community.
A New Hampshire business of any size that supported the arts in calendar year 2007 is eligible for a Business in the Arts Award. Support may take the form of sponsorships, volunteer involvement of an executive or other staff member, the provision of in-kind goods and/or professional services, a tie-in that involved the arts in advertising, marketing, or public affairs campaigns, as well as other activities.
Four winners will be named: one from each business size category of microenterprise, small, medium and large.
The Leadership Award will be given to an individual business executive to recognize exceptional leadership, vision and commitment in encouraging and developing the partnership between business and the arts.
A panel of judges comprised of representatives from business and the arts will review the nominations and select the winners. The winners, who will be presented with work commissioned from a New Hampshire artist, will be announced at a festive banquet on May 12 at The Center of NH – Radisson Hotel in Manchester at 6:00 p.m. at which all companies nominated will be acknowledged.
A business, arts organization or individual may submit a nomination online or download a form at www.nhbca.com, or by contacting the NHBCA, One Granite Place, Concord, NH 03301, 603-224-8300. Nominations are due February 1, 2008.
The NHBCA was formed to educate, motivate and recognize business support of and participation in the arts. More than 700 nominations, representing a diverse spectrum of businesses statewide, have been submitted for award consideration since the inception of the Awards program in 1985.
