The New Hampshire State Council on the Arts received 21 nominations for the 2013 Governors Arts Awards. Members of the Governors Arts Awards Selection Committee, appointed by State Arts Council Chairman Roger Brooks, recommended nine of these nominees to Governor Maggie Hassan.

At the formal ceremony on November 6, 2013 at the New Hampshire Institute of Art, award recipients were presented with an original commissioned award created by Andre Belanger of Berlin, NH.
