Carey Johnson, Curatorial Specialist
Carey Johnson became the Curatorial Specialist in 2009. Prior to that she served as a Program Assistant for the New Hampshire State Council on the Arts from March 2004 to 2005 and as Arts Research Specialist from 2005 to 2009.
Carey graduated from the University of New Hampshire with a major in American History and minors in Art History and Education. She also holds a graduate certificate in Museum Studies from Tufts University.
Before joining the Arts Council staff, Johnson was a historical interpreter and museum teacher at Strawbery Banke Museum in Portsmouth, an intern at the Currier Museum of Art, and a Senior Operations Analyst for the investment consulting firm Prime, Buchholz & Associates, where she gained experience in database management and public relations.
Johnson is a New Hampshire native and currently resides in Auburn with her husband, daughter Bridget, and son Cole.
