Carey Johnson, Curatorial Specialist

Carey Johnson joined the NH State Council on the Arts staff in March 2004 as the Arts Program Assistant. She was promoted to Arts Research Specialist in the summer of 2005 and became the Department of Cultural Resources' Curatorial Specialist in 2009.
She graduated from the University of New Hampshire with a major in American History and minors in Art History and Education. She also holds a graduate certificate in Museum Studies from Tufts University. Johnson has been an historical interpreter and museum teacher at Strawbery Banke Museum in Portsmouth and an intern at the Currier Museum of Art. Before joining the Arts Council staff, she was employed as a Senior Operations Analyst by the investment consulting firm Prime, Buchholz & Associates, where she gained experience in database management and public relations.
Johnson is a New Hampshire native and currently resides in Goffstown with her husband, daughter Bridget, and son Cole.
