Marriage and Family Advisory Committee Minutes - March 14, 2005
Joni Haley, Thom Linehan, and George Samuels
Stephanie Williston, Allison Doyle
1. Discussed changing the rules around MFT Post-Graduate experience (Mhp 302.23) to reflect the current practice of allowing the purchased MFT supervision to include group supervision (one supervisor to six supervisees). This would be in addition to the current standard of weekly individual supervision. Joni Haley will draft the changes to the current rules and seek input from advisory committee members.
2. Discussed the relative merits of requiring MFT supervision, which may make it more difficult for MFTs to obtain licensure in the state. We also discussed the importance of
a. NH Approved Supervisors making supervision available at a reasonable cost for post-graduate MFTs and
b. making the rules very clear around supervision requirements.
3. Discussed having specific criteria for choosing supervisors for Settlement Agreements. Decided that rather than specific requirements (such as having an Approved Supervisor status), it is more important to consider relevant experience, skills and strengths.
Next meeting to be scheduled as necessary.
