NEW HAMPSHIRE BOARD OF MENTAL HEALTH PRACTICE

The purpose of the Board “is to regulate mental health practice by practitioners in the state
to assure that the services provided are effective and of a quality consistent with the standard
of care within each profession, and to safeguard the public against harm which may be caused
by, untrained, unskilled or unlicensed practitioners.” RSA 330-A:1

III. LEGISLATION UPDATE

A. SB 270 - establishing a commission to study mental health implementation in NH. On February 24, 2014 the Board sent a letter to Senator Fuller Clark stating it would strongly support the appointment of one or more representatives from persons licensed with the Board of Mental Health Practice.

B. HB 1442 - relative to mental health courts

IV. APPOINTMENT OF FORMER BOARD MEMBER

A. As allowed by RSA 330-A:9 the Board needs to appoint a former social work Board member to participate in hearings scheduled for May 16, 2014.
