NEW HAMPSHIRE BOARD OF MENTAL HEALTH PRACTICE

The purpose of the Board “is to regulate mental health practice by practitioners in the state
to assure that the services provided are effective and of a quality consistent with the standard
of care within each profession, and to safeguard the public against harm which may be caused
by, untrained, unskilled or unlicensed practitioners.” RSA 330-A:1

III. LEGISLATION UPDATE

A. SB 21 - changes the quorum for meetings of the board and clarifies the procedure for reinstatement of non-renewed licenses issued by the Board. This bill is supported by the Board. Awaiting Governor's signature.

B. SB 33 - relative to continuing education requirements for mental health practitioners on suicide prevention - passed the Senate with amendment. Awaiting Governor's signature.

A. Status of Mhp 300 rules - review a draft of the Board's revised objection response
