Recently the Board of Registration for Medical Technicians sent packets to a wide range of individuals. If you receive one of these packets it is to inform you that if you or any of your employees, who are not licensed or certified by a State of NH entity and have access to controlled substances (if the substances are on premisses) those individuals must register with this office. THESE PACKETS ARE INFORMAITONAL.

The mission of the Board of Registration for Medical Technicians is to assure that the services provided by our registrants protect healthcare consumer against harm which may be caused by unqualified or impaired practitioners.

"Medical technician'' means a health care worker who is not licensed or registered by a New Hampshire regulatory board and who assists licensed health care professionals in the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of disease. For the purposes of this chapter, medical technicians shall be limited to health care workers with access to controlled substances and with access to or contact with patients in a health care facility or in a medical establishment.

Register as a Medical Technician

IMPORTANT NOTICE: Due to the high volume of individuals who will be seeking background checks by fingerprint and the limited number of fingerprint cards, it is highly recommended that anyone who is able have their fingerprints done by the live scan method.

If an individual is not able to do fingerprints via the live scan method contact the State of NH, Department of Safety, Division of State Police, Criminal Records Unit to obtain a fingerprint card.


The FBI has changed fees for background checks they are as follows:

Inked Prints $47.00
Electronic Prints $37.00 plus $10.00 processing fee if printed at a NHSP Livescan location

All meetings start at 8:00 A.M. at the Board Office unless otherwise noted. Both public and non-public meetings are held on the same date. The Boards office is located at the Philbrook Building, 121 South Fruit Street, Concord.
