The New Hampshire State Liquor Commission regulates the sale of alcohol in the state of New Hampshire. New Hampshire is one of 18 control states in the nation where the government directly controls the distribution of alcoholic beverages as well as being responsible for the regulation of alcoholic beverages. The Commission is an important source of revenue for the state, contributing over 100 million dollars to the General Fund each year.

There are three divisions in the Liquor Commission:

  • Enforcement and Licensing Division (603) 271-3521

    Responsible for the enforcement of all liquor laws and rules as well as the licensing of all private business that are involved with alcoholic beverages.

  • Marketing, Merchandising & Warehousing Division (603) 271-2163

    The retail and wholesale business part of the Commission is responsible for the operation of all state liquor stores, merchandising, advertising, warehousing and transportation.

  • Administrative Services Division (603) 271-2788

    The Administrative Services Division is responsible for information technology, human resource management, plant maintenance, general administrative support to the Commission, and liasion activities with the Governor & Executive Council, the Legislature, and other state agencies.

  • Financial Administration (603) 271-2788

    The Financial Administration is dedicated to effective and efficient management of the Liquor Commission's financial affairs.
