Doing a research paper on how the court system works? Check out the New Hampshire Bar Association's Court Overview page. Go to http://www.nhbar.org, click on the "For the Public" link, and choose "About NH Courts." Their information includes a description of the different divisions of court, legal terms, and descriptions of the criminal and civil court processes.

Legal Glossary: The U.S. Federal Courts have a user-friendly list of legal terms.

http://www.judicial.state.ia.us/students/1/. From the Iowa Judicial Branch, activities include a coloring page, a crossword puzzle and a quiz on the courts.
http://www.courts.state.wi.us/For_Kids/Kids_Page.htm. From the Wisconsin Court System, this page includes an interactive book explaining the court process. For elementary school ages.

Field Trips:

The Court Communications Office can help arrange a tour for your school to a courthouse in your area. You can watch a trial, visit with a clerk and if time allows, meet our judges.
