Notwithstanding the fact that a notice of appeal or petition has been filed in this court, the trial judge or master (where appropriate, with the consent of the judge who approved the master's report) whose ruling or verdict is appealed shall, within 30 days, have the authority to compel trial counsel to participate in a post verdict settlement conference before that judge or master.
