1. Timeliness of indictment
Time period of sixty days from date of arrest was prescribed as reasonable time for bringing of indictment in State v. Hastings, 120 NH 454, 455 (1980). See also State v. Hughes, 123 NH 66, 67 (1983); State v. Preston, 124 NH 118 (1983).
BAIL
1. Denial of bail pending appeal
Standards and required findings for denial of a defendant's motion for bail pending appeal are prescribed in State v. Marini, 117 NH 71 (1977).
THE RIGHT TO COUNSEL
THE RIGHT OF INDIGENT PERSONS TO COUNSEL
1. Appointment of counsel
Guidelines for appointment of counsel are provided in State v. Mikolyski,121 NH 116, 117 (1981).
EFFECTIVE ASSISTANCE OF COUNSEL
1. Standard of competence
Standard of "reasonable competence" as standards of competence required for effective assistance of counsel was adopted in State v. Staples, 121 NH 959, 961 (1981).
GRAND JURY
1. Waiver of grand jury indictment
Recommendation to defendant by court or prosecutor of waiver of right to grand jury indictment was disapproved in State v. Hastings, 120 NH 454, 455 (1980).
