System-wide Guardian Ad Litem Application, Certification and Practice

CHAPTER I. CERTIFICATION

Rule 1.6. Certification


    An applicant may be certified as a GAL in the superior, district and municipal, and/or probate courts upon:

        (1) approval of his or her application by the respective administrative judge;

        (2) proof of successful completion of 20 hours of education/training in a program approved by the respective administrative judge and designed to enable the applicant to perform their duties as officers of the respective court in a manner which will serve the best interests of the person represented by the applicant;

        (3) payment of an initial certification fee as prescribed by the supreme court; and

        (4) such other requirements established by the administrative judge of the respective courts.
