Guidelines For Guardians Ad Litem

Guideline 12.

In the event of an appeal by other parties to the action it is suggested that the Guardian examine the Notice of Appeal and promptly notify the Supreme Court whether issues exist which will require that a brief be filed by the Guardian. If a brief is to be filed by the Guardian ad Litem, leave of the Supreme Court should be requested to file the brief after the Guardian ad Litem has had sufficient time to examine the briefs of both parties. A specific period of time should be specified in the request.
