BELKNAP COUNTY
SUPERIOR COURT

LOCATION OF THE COURT

The Belknap County Superior Court is in the Belknap County Courthouse located at 64 Court Street, Laconia, New Hampshire.  DIRECTIONS

TELEPHONE

You may contact the clerk’s office, Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM by calling 524-3578. At all other times, the same number delivers recorded messages. During your term of service jurors should call the evening prior to reporting to confirm your reporting time.

PARKING

Parking is available in the rear of the building. You should not park in any areas designated as NO PARKING ZONES, as you may be towed. Jurors may proceed from the parking lot, around the building to the main entrance where there will be a uniformed officer to assist you. Jurors with physical disabilities may use the side entrance under the covered parking area and enter the elevator to the superior court which is located on the second floor.

ATTENDANCE

If there is an emergency situation that prevents you from appearing on a day you are scheduled to report, call the clerk's office immediately.

All requests for exemptions and postponements must be in writing and received by the court, along with your juror questionnaire by the date specified in your letter from the court. No requests for exemptions or postponements can be handled by telephone. 

NOTE: IF YOU FAIL TO APPEAR FOR JURY DUTY YOU BE HELD IN CONTEMPT OF COURT.

GRAND JURY SERVICE

Jurors serve for a single term of court, either January June, or July December. Jurors normally report only one day every six weeks during the term.


PETIT JURY SERVICE

Juries are normally picked on Monday morning. You will then know any assignments you have for that particular week. You are required to serve not more than 30 working days (six, five day weeks).
