Coos County District Courts Directions

Coos County has four district courts:

1.  Berlin District Court
2.  Colebrook District Court
3.  Lancaster District Court

Jurisdiction : Towns of Berlin, Dummer, and Milan, the unincorporated places of Cambridge and Success, Gorham, Shelburne, Randolph, and the unincorporated places of Bean's Purchase, Martin's Location, Green's Grant, Pinkham's Grant, Sargent's Purchase, Low & Burbank's Grant, and Thompson & Meserve Purchase.

Directions

From the north, take Route 3 South to Lancaster.  When you reach Lancaster, keep driving through until you pass the Town Hall on your left and Riff’s Flower shop on your right.  Keep going and you will start to go up a hill.  Route 3 forks to the left and Route 2 forks to the right.  Take Route 2 and follow it into Gorham (about ½ hour drive).  When you come to a set of lights at the bottom of Gorham hill, turn left onto Route 16 to Berlin.  Upon entering Berlin, go straight through a traffic light.  The courthouse will be the 4th building on the right located in the old Coos County Superior Court Building.

From the south, take Interstate 93 North to Exit 35 (Twin Mountain).  Follow Route 3 North for approximately 11 miles until you come to a four-way intersection.  Go straight through the intersection and follow it for about 2 miles.  You will come to a flashing yellow light and Route 115 will be on your right.  Take Route 115 and follow it all the way to the end.  At the end of Route 115 take a right onto Route 2 and follow it into Gorham (about a 20 min. drive).  When you come to a set of lights at the bottom of Gorham hill, turn left onto Route 16 to Berlin.  Upon entering Berlin, the road forks, stay left (not over the bridge) go straight through a traffic light.  The courthouse will be the 4th building on the right located in the old Coos County Superior Court Building.

Jurisdiction : Towns of Colebrook, Pittsburg, Clarksville, Wentworth’s Location, Errol, Millsfield, Columbia, Stewartstown, and Stratford and the unincorporated places of Dix’s Grant, Atkinson & Gilmanton Academy Grant, Second College Grant, Dixville, Erving’s Location, and Odell. 

Directions

From the north, head south on Route 3 into Colebrook.  Turn right onto Bridge Street.  The Town Hall will be the fourth building on your left.  The District Court is in the Town Hall.  Go through the front doors, check with the dispatcher and go all the way to the back of the building.

From the south, take 93 North to Exit 35 (Twin Mountain).  Follow Route 3 through Twin Mountain, Whitefield, Lancaster, Northumberland, Groveton, Stratford, Columbia and into Colebrook.  Once in Colebrook, just after you pass Junction of Route 26 (goes right).  Turn left onto Bridge Street.  The Town Hall will be the fourth building on your left.  The District Court is in the Town Hall.  Go through the front doors, check with the dispatcher and go all the way to the back of the building. 

From Northern Vermont, head south on Route 102.  In Lemington, turn left onto Bridge Street.  The Town Hall will be on your right.  The District Court is in the Town Hall.  Go through the front doors, check with the dispatcher and go all the way to the back of the building.

From Southern Vermont, head north on Route 102.  In Lemington, turn right onto Bridge Street.  The Town Hall will be on your right.  The District Court is in the Town Hall.  Go through the front doors, check with the dispatcher and go all the way to the back of the building.

Jurisdiction : Towns of Lancaster, Stark, Northumberland, Carroll, Whitefield, Dalton, and Jefferson, and the unincorporated places of Kilkenny, Bean’s Grant, Chandler’s Purchase, and Crawford’s Purchase. 

Directions

From the Nashua, Manchester, and Concord Area, take Interstate 93 North through Franconia Notch.  Take Exit 35 (Twin Mountain, Lancaster).  Follow Route 3 North all the way to Lancaster (26 miles).  Courthouse is on the left after Post Office (School St.).  

From the Seacoast Area, take Route 16 to Gorham, NH.  In Gorham take Route 2.  Follow Route 2 all the way to Lancaster.  Route 2 connects to Route 3 in Lancaster.  Courthouse on left after Post Office (School St.).

From the Berlin/Gorham Area, take Route 2 to Lancaster.  Route 2 Connects to Route 3 in Lancaster.  Courthouse on left after Post Office (School St.).

From Northern NH (Pittsburg, Colebrook, Stratford Area):  Take Route 3 South to Lancaster.  Courthouse on right before Post Office (School St.). 

From Keene, Claremont, Lebanon Area:  Take Interstate 91N to St. Johnsbury, VT.  Take Route 2 to Lancaster.  Route 2 connects to Route 3 in Lancaster.  Courthouse on right before Post Office (School St.).
