Superior Court Rule 170 Program

FOR ATTORNEYS CURRENTLY ENROLLED IN THE RULE 170 PROGRAM

Please complete an application and materials by December 21 to participate in the new Superior Court Rule 170 ADR program which starts January 1, 2008. Lawyers currently enrolled in the Rule 170 program  should have received a letter from the Office of Mediation and Arbitration, along with an application and other materials to sign up. PLEASE RETURN THE APPLICATION AND MATERIALS TO BY DECEMBER 21 so that the Office of Mediation and Arbitration can provide the courts with lists of neutrals in time for the start of the new program.

FOR ATTORNEYS SIGNING UP FOR THE FIRST TIME

The Office of Mediation and Arbitration is preparing packets of information to be mailed to all eligible lawyers in the state which will include an application and other materials needed to sign up for the new ADR program.  A basic 20 hour mediation training, for which lawyers will receive CLE credit, will be necessary to be eligible for the Courts’ lists. Details about that training will be included with the information packet.

LEARN ABOUT THE NEW PROGRAM

Brown Bag Lunches to learn about the new program are being conducted in December by Karen Borgstrom, the director of the Office of Mediation and Arbitration, from noon to 1 p.m. at the following locations:

Grafton Superior (N. Haverhill) Wednesday December 12, 2007

Coos Superior (Lancaster) Thursday December 13, 2007

Strafford Superior (Dover) Friday December 14, 2007

Cheshire Superior (Keene) Monday December 17, 2007

Sullivan Superior (Newport) Tuesday December 18, 2007

Rockingham Superior (Brentwood) Wednesday December 19, 2007

Carroll Superior (Ossipee) Thursday December 20, 2007

REFRESHER TRAINING SCHEDULE

Lawyers on the existing roster of Rule 170 neutrals who plan to participate in the new program are  required to complete an 8-hour refresher program by December 31, 2008. Please note, there is no cost for the training, for which lawyers will also receive CLE credit.

All trainings will take place at 107 Pleasant Street, Concord, from from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. To sign up, contact Lynda Troy at : 603-271-6418 or by e-mail: ltroy@courts.state.nh.us.
