JANUARY - JUNE 2015 ACTIVITIES

The current five-member Board consists of William Doucet, LLS, Chair; Tracey Sweeney, II, LLS, Vice-Chairman; Kevin McEneaney, LLS; Joe Wichert, LLS  and Richard Bond, CSS, CWS, Public Member. Joint Board staff for the Land Surveyors Board consists of Louise Lavertu, Executive Director, and Donna Lobdell, Program Specialist III. Gregory Brown, LLS served as Chair until March 2015 and as a member until he was replaced on April 8, 2015.

 

Enforcement

 

The Board received two new complaints against licensees from the public during this reporting period.

 

arrow One complaint was dismissed because it was a civil matter not within the jurisdiction of the Board.

arrow One complaint from the current reporting period and one complaint from the prior reporting period was investigated and dismissed for lack of cause.

arrow The Board is solicited feedback regarding wetland lines and issued the following wetlands location statement:

The Board issued the attached wetlands location statement on 1/20/15.

arrow The Board met with representatives from NHLSA at the January meeting to discuss continuing education and clarify requirements for continuing education audits.

arrow Joseph Wichert, LLS was confirmed for a his first term on the Board on April 8, 2015. Joe's term runs through February 3, 2020.

arrow Outgoing Board Chair Gregory Brown, LLS was honored for his 10 years of dedicated service to the citizens of the State of New Hamsphire at the Board's March 3, 2015 meeting. arrow Donna Lobdell and William Doucet represented the Board at the NCEES Northeast Zone meeting held in Hershey, Pennsylvannia in May.

Examinations

The fundamentals of land surveying exam is a computer based exam. Candidates must register with the Board first, then register with NCEES.

There are no deadlines to sit for the Fundamentals of Land Surveying Exam.

arrowNCEES Exam Administration Services administers the PLS examination for the New Hampshire Board. Signing up for the PLS exam is a two step process. Candidates approved by the Board must also register on-line with NCEES to sit for the exam. Instructions will be sent with the candidate's approval letter.

 Candidates for the PLS must apply to the NH Board to be qualified to sit for the exam and for subsequent re-exams. Upon approval of the Board, candidates will be directed to the NCEES web site to register for exam administration.

arrowExam deadlines for the April 2016 PLS and NH Legal Aspects exam are as follows for all applications, supporting documentation and fees:

JANUARY 1, 2016 - OCTOBER  PLS/NHL EXAM

Reapplication deadline (individuals that have sat and failed the exam)
- FEBRUARY 1, 2016.

 Examination deadlines ARE strictly adhered to.
