JULY - DECEMBER 2014 ACTIVITIES

The current five-member Board consists of Gregory Brown, LLS, Chair; Tracey Sweeney, II, LLS, Vice-Chairman; William Doucet, LLS, Kevin McEneaney, LLS and Richard Bond, CSS, CWS, Public Member. Joint Board staff for the Land Surveyors Board consists of Louise Lavertu, Executive Director, and Donna Lobdell, Program Specialist III.

 

Enforcement

 

The Board received four new complaints against licensees from the public during this reporting period.

 

arrow Three complaints were dismissed because they were civil matters not within the jurisdiction of the Board.

arrow One complaint is currently under investigation.

arrow The Board is soliciting feedback regarding wetland lines. Follow this link to read a memo from the Board to Licensed Land Surveyors.

arrow Board Member, Tracey Sweeney was confirmed for a second term on the Board on July 18, 2014. Tracey's term runs through July 11, 2019.

arrow Board Member William Doucet was confirmed for a full term on the Board on September 4, 2014. Bill's term runs through August 12, 2019.

arrow Donna Lobdell represented the Board at the NCEES Annual Meeting held in Seattle, Washington in August. Attached is a summary of action items taken at the 2014 NCEES Annual Meeting.

Examinations

The fundamentals of land surveying exam is a computer based exam. Candidates must register with the Board first, then register with NCEES.

There are no deadlines to sit for the Fundamentals of Land Surveying Exam.

arrowNCEES Exam Administration Services administers the PLS examination for the New Hampshire Board. Signing up for the PLS exam is a two step process. Candidates approved by the Board must also register on-line with NCEES to sit for the exam. Instructions will be sent with the candidate's approval letter.

 

arrowYou can find more information about NCEES Exam Administration Services by visiting their web site at: http://www.ncees.org/Exams.php Candidates for the PLS must apply to the NH Board to be qualified to sit for the exam and for subsequent re-exams. Upon approval of the Board, candidates will be directed to the NCEES web site to register for exam administration.

arrowExam deadlines for the April 2015 PLS and NH Legal Aspects exam are as follows for all applications, supporting documentation and fees:

JANUARY 1, 2015 - APRIL  PLS/NHL EXAM

Reapplication deadline (individuals that have sat and failed the exam)
- FEBRUARY 1, 2015.

 Examination deadlines ARE strictly adhered to.
