JANUARY - JUNE 2014 ACTIVITIES

 

The current five-member Board consists of Gregory Brown, LLS, Chair; Tracey Sweeney, II, LLS, Vice-Chairman; William Doucet, LLS, Kevin McEneaney, LLS and Richard Bond, CSS, CWS, Public Member. Joint Board staff for the Land Surveyors Board consists of Louise Lavertu, Executive Director, and Donna Lobdell, Program Specialist III.

 

Enforcement

 

The Board received no new complaints against licensees from the public during this reporting period.

 

arrow One complaint from the prior reporting period was investigated. The licensee was issued a confidential letter of concern.

 

Other Items of Interest

 
arrow Board Member, Tracy Sweeney attended the Department of Jusitice's Annual Administrative Law Training in March 2014.

arrow Board Member Kevin McEneaney and Donna Lobdell, Program Specialist represented the Board at the National Council of Engineering and Surveying (NCEES) Northeast Zone Meeting held in White Sulfur Springs, West Virginia in May 2014.

Donna will represent the Board at the NCEES Annual Meeting being held in Seattle, Washington in August. 




Examinations


arrowThe fundamentals of land surveying exam became a computer based exam effective January 2014.

To date, four candidates have applied to sit for the new computer based fundamentals of surveying exam. Two candidates sat for the exam and did not pass, the other candidates have not sat for the exam.

There are no deadlines to sit for the Fundamentals of Land Surveying Exam.

 

arrowNCEES Exam Administration Services administers the PLS examination for the New Hampshire Board. Signing up for the exam is a two step process. Candidates approved by the Board must also register on-line with NCEES to sit for the exam. Instructions will be sent with the candidate's approval letter.

 

arrowYou can find more information about NCEES Exam Administration Services by visiting their web site at: http://www.ncees.org/Exams.php Candidates for the PLS must apply to the NH Board to be qualified to sit for the exam and for subsequent re-exams. Upon approval of the Board, candidates will be directed to the NCEES web site to register for exam administration.

arrowExam deadlines for the April 2014 PLS and NH Legal Aspects exam are as follows for all applications, supporting documentation and fees:

JULY 1, 2014 - OCTOBER  PLS/NHL EXAM
Reapplication deadline (individuals that have sat and failed the exam)
- AUGUST 1, 2014

 Examination deadlines ARE strictly adhered to.
