JULY - DECEMBER 2015 ACTIVITIES

The current five-member Board consists of William Doucet, LLS, Chair; Tracey Sweeney, II, LLS, Vice-Chairman; Kevin McEneaney, LLS; Joe Wichert, LLS  and Richard Bond, CSS, CWS, Public Member. Staff for the Land Surveyors Board consists of Louise Lavertu, Executive Director, Linda Capuchino, Division Director and Donna Lobdell, Program Specialist III.

 

Enforcement

 

The Board received five new complaints against licensees from the public during this reporting period.

arrow Three complaints are pending further information.

 

 

Other Items of Interest

 
arrow The Board will be working on readopting their administrative rules because some provisions are due to expire in December 2016.

arrow The Joint Board of Licensure and Certification has become the Office of Professional Licensure and Certification (OPLC) effective September 16, 2015.

Examinations

 

ATTENTION: NCEES EXAM ADMINISTRATION CHANGES:

The April 2016 exam administration  will be the last NCEES Principles and Practice of Surveying (PS) exam offered in the pencil and paper format. After April 2016, the exam will be offered only in the Computer Based Testing (CBT) format Registration for the computer based PS exam will begin in mid-2016 with the first available appointments for the PS exam in CBT format beginning October 1, 2016. Candidates will be allowed to take the exam only one time per two month testing window and no more than three times in a 12-month period.  
The PS exam will remain a closed book exam with an electronic supplied reference delivered with the exam. Examinees will be allowed to bring and use NCEES approved calculators to the PS exam.

The New Hampshire Legal Aspects (NHL) Exam will remain a paper and pencil examination. Stated deadlines will continue to apply to the NHL exam.

The fundamentals of land surveying exam is a computer based exam. Candidates must register with the Board first, then register with NCEES.

There are no deadlines to sit for the Fundamentals of Land Surveying Exam.

arrowUntil the April 2016 NCEES Exam Administration Services administers the PLS examination for the New Hampshire Board. Signing up for the PLS exam is a two step process. Candidates approved by the Board must also register on-line with NCEES to sit for the exam. Instructions will be sent with the candidate's approval letter.

 Candidates for the PLS must apply to the NH Board to be qualified to sit for the exam and for subsequent re-exams. Upon approval of the Board, candidates will be directed to the NCEES web site to register for exam administration.

arrowExam deadlines for the April 2016 PLS and NH Legal Aspects exam are as follows for all applications, supporting documentation and fees:

JANUARY 1, 2016 - APRIL  PLS/NHL EXAM

Reapplication deadline (individuals that have sat and failed the exam)
- FEBRUARY 1, 2016.

 Examination deadlines ARE strictly adhered to.
