Resident Individual Producers:

• Resident Individuals must satisfactorily pass a formal written examination for the desired license type and lines of authority. This examination is administered by our business partner, Prometric.

  • An Approved Provider for licensing is one who provides a comprehensive course of study on Insurance products and laws without focusing on sales techniques or advertising specific products. The taking of a course alone does not guarantee that an individual will pass a licensing exam, it merely is another tool available for an individual to use to prepare for the test itself.

Resident Business Entity:

• New Hampshire Department of State Corporate Division: The Corporate Division is responsible for the statutory filing of business entities, trademarks and trade names and numerous miscellaneous filings.
• Designated Responsible Licensed Producer (DRLP's) must be licensed for the Lines of Authority selected by the Business Entity

Non Resident Business Entity:

• New Hampshire Department of State Corporate Division: The Corporate Division is responsible for the statutory filing of business entities, trademarks and trade names and numerous miscellaneous filings.

Renewal Producer License

The department continues to make strides to further reduce costs and in the near future,we expect to send out renewal reminders via
email. It will be imperative that you keep us informed of a current email address for future notifications.

E Mail Update------- Individuals---------------------Business Entities

• Currently, renewal notices with instructions are mailed to your mailing address of record approximately 60 days prior to license expiration. You cannot renew your license prior to 60 days before expiration. Non - receipt of a renewal notice does not negate your responsibility to renew your license. All resident producers with major lines of authority must be CE compliant prior to renewal. All renewals are processed electronically via www.nipr.com.
• Business Entities cannot change the DRLP of record through the renewal process. If you wish to change the DRLP send a written request and $50 fee to the Department prior to processing the renewal. DRLP change form DRLP must be actively licensed and hold the same lines of authority as the entity to process renewal.

• Resident individuals applying to reinstate licenses within 2 years of expiration must be Continuing Education compliant.
• Non Resident Individuals must be licensed in good standing in their home state.
• Reinstatement fee is $300
• Two or more years after license expiration initial license procedures and fees apply

• License amendments are changes that add lines of authority (LOA), delete LOA, and adding or deleting a Designated Responsible Licensed Producer.
• Individual Amendments
  • Residents- To add a LOA, resident individuals must take the appropriate licensing examination. Apply online and select Resident "initial license". $50 fee.
  • Non Resident - To add a LOA, non resident Apply online and select Non Resident "initial license". $50 fee.
• Business Entity Amendments
  • To add a LOA, Business Entities Apply Online and select Resident or Non Resident " initial license". DRLP's must hold these LOA's. $50 fee.
  • Adding, Changing, Deleting DRLP"S or LOA's ; Mail a written request signed by the new DRLP, include $50 fee or complete the change form . Make checks payable to the NH Ins.Dept . This cannot be processed online.
  • Changing business name without a corresponding change in FEIN: Write a letter signed by an officer, Director, or Owner requesting the amendment. no fee required.
