NH RSA 412:14 calls for the Insurance Commissioner to monitor the degree of competition in insurance markets in the state. As part of this effort, actuaries at the Insurance Department have completed competitive market analyses of various lines of insurance written here in New Hampshire. These reviews include information on each line of business at the state level, the New England regional level and also countrywide. The information reflected in the reports and analysis is an important factor in determining whether a reasonable degree of competition exists in each line of insurance, and thus whether there are particular regulatory issues to be considered. We believe this information may be of interest to the consumers in the state of NH.
Reviews based on 2011 data are in the process of being done and each line of insurance will be available online as it is completed. These reviews will be updated on an annual or biannual basis.
Questions regarding these reports should be directed to Sally MacFadden at (603) 271-7973 x 228 or sally.macfadden@ins.nh.gov.
