NH RSA 412:14 calls for the Insurance Commissioner to monitor the degree of competition in insurance markets in the state. As part of this effort, Insurance Department staff have completed competitive market analyses of various lines of insurance written here in New Hampshire. These reviews are completed, and then updated, on an annual or bi-annual basis, and include information on each line of business at the state level, the New England regional level and also countrywide. The reviews shown here are based on data through the end of 2007. The information reflected in the reports and analysis is an important factor in determining whether a reasonable degree of competition exists in each line of insurance, and thus whether there are particular regulatory issues to be considered. We believe this information may be of interest to the consumers in the state of NH.
Questions regarding these reports should be directed to Deb Stone, FCAS, MAAA, Assistant P&C Actuary at (603) 271-7973 x258 or deborah.stone@ins.nh.gov.
