Market Conduct Examination Reports of Property and Casualty Companies Available for Public Inspection are Listed on This Page.
The New Hampshire Insurance Department performs examinations of insurance companies, agents and other licensed insurance entities to determine whether they comply with New Hampshire insurance laws and treat claimants and policyholders fairly. These examinations are scheduled for a variety of reasons. For example, an examination may be conducted based on analysis of consumer complaint activity or in a routine manner to follow up on the company's compliance with a new law or rule.
The results of market conduct examinations are contained in market conduct examination reports. New Hampshire law requires that these adopted reports be privileged, confidential and filed with the department. The law also provides that in some cases the commissioner may make a report public. The content of an examination report may serve as the basis for an enforcement action. Enforcement actions may be found by selecting the Legal Information tab on the department Web site homepage.
