Concord, NH - The New Hampshire Commission for Human Rights (Commission), the state's primary antidiscrimination law enforcement agency, the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) and the New Hampshire Transit Association (NHTA) will make a presentation to students at Bow High School kicking off a joint project aimed at educating youth about their rights under state and federal employment laws. The presentation at Bow High School on Wednesday, May 23, 2007 is intended to be the first in a series of programs to be offered to young people around the state. During the months of May and June 2007, bus cards (11" X 22") will be installed on all state transit buses informing youth about their right to work in workplaces free of discrimination and harassment. The bus cards include contact information for both the Commission and EEOC and will remain on all buses throughout the year. The joint venture is part of the EEOC's Youth@Work initiative, begun in September 2004, aimed at promoting equal employment opportunity for America's next generation of workers.
