Governor Lynch Statement on CACR 34
Gov. John Lynch today issued the following the House vote on CACR 34

“I believe that New Hampshire has a responsibility to ensure that all children have an opportunity for a quality education. We should be able to do more to help kids and communities with greater needs, and we can’t do that in the most effective way under the Court’s rulings. I am deeply disappointed that the House failed to pass today a Constitutional Amendment that would have given the legislature and the governor the ability to make the right policy choices for our kids.

“I want to thank House Speaker Terie Norelli for her strong leadership in support of this amendment, and all those who worked to find common ground and support this amendment.

“We gave this our best effort, but it’s clear that this legislature is not going to be able to find agreement on an amendment. I remain committed to helping ensure all children in New Hampshire have the opportunity for a quality education and I will continue to work with lawmakers to put in place the very best education policy possible for New Hampshire’s children.”
