CONCORD - Gov. John Lynch announced today he will nominate Deputy Health and Human Services Commissioner Nicholas Toumpas to serve as acting commissioner at next week’s Governor and Council meeting. The Executive must approve the nomination.
“I want to ensure the Department of Health and Humans Services continues to fulfill its mission of providing quality services to our most vulnerable citizens and protecting the public’s health. That is why I plan to nominate Deputy Commissioner Nick Toumpas to serve as acting commissioner,” Gov. Lynch said.
Gov. Lynch has already begun the process of selecting a new commissioner, including speaking with various stakeholder groups about the qualifications necessary for the next Health and Human Services Commissioner.
