Statement of Gov. John Lynch On the Shooting of Manchester Police Officer Michael Briggs

Gov. John Lynch released the following statement today on the shooting of Manchester Police Officer Michael Briggs:

"Susan and my thoughts and prayers are with Officer Michael Briggs, his family, and all the brave men and women of the Manchester Police Department. This courageous young officer, with his commitment to service and to the people of Manchester, represents the very best of New Hampshire.

"All of the resources of New Hampshire law enforcement are -- and will continue to be -- dedicated to working with the Manchester Police Department to capture the person responsible for this heinous and cowardly act."
