Gov. John Lynch issued the following statement today, Thursday, August 10, 2006, in response to the heightened security alert and increased security measures at the nation's airports:
"This morning, I have spoken with New Hampshire Department of Safety officials and officials at the Manchester-Boston Regional Airport. I have offered airport officials any assistance they may need, and members of the New Hampshire State Police have already been dispatched to the airport to assist with security. We will monitor this situation closely, and remain in close contact with the U.S. Department of Homeland Security.
"I ask all of our citizens who may be traveling in the next few days to do their part and cooperate with law enforcement and airport officials in their efforts to ensure your safety."
