NH’s Healthy Future

The Governor’s Council on Physical Activity & Health has launched NH’s Healthy Future, an initiative aimed at decreasing obesity among NH’s citizens. This exciting, new initiative is launching with the creation of an electronic directory of NH organizations and the services, activities and initiatives they’re leading to address the growing rate of obesity in New Hampshire. This directory will assist NH citizens to locate services and programs to improve their physical health and well being.

Outstanding Achievement Award Program

NH’s Governor’s Council on Physical Activity and Health annually recognizes individuals and organizations in the state of New Hampshire that have significantly contributed toward healthy lifestyles.

The award ceremony will be held May 9, 2008 at the New Hampshire Technical Institute (Concord, NH)

2008 Award categories are:

• Senior (Older Adults) Organizations and/or Individuals
• Work Sites/Employers
• Disability Related Organizations and/or Individuals
• Youth Related Organizations and/or Individuals
• Community (Town/City) Related Organizations and/or Individuals
• Business Related Organizations and/or Individuals
• School Districts and/or Individual Schools
