Heather Fairchild
Heather M. Fairchild serves as the Occupational Health & Safety Coordinator/Wellness Coordinator for the NH Department of Health and Human Services. She has served in this position for over 9 years now. Her primary role is to promote safe and healthy environments in which to work for the over 3000 employees within DHHS. She has recently taken on the duties of the Wellness Coordinator for the Department. In that role she has promoted healthy lifestyle changes, created walking routes and promoted weight loss initiatives. She holds a Bachelor's of Science degree in Biology from Bridgewater State College. She also has over 20 years of work experience in occupational safety and health, ranging from the complexities of hazardous materials and environmental work in both New England and Alaska to industrial safety and office-related ergonomic issues here in NH. She is a Professional Member of the American Society of Safety Engineers and has sat on the Occupational Education Committee of the Safety and Health Council of Northern New England for over 11 years, chairing it for 2 of those years. Her hobbies include training for and completing triathlons, canoeing, kayaking, hiking, skiing, golf and tending her herb and vegetable gardens. |
