New Hampshire Film Office opens new online forum for state’s film industry
(Concord, NH) – The New Hampshire Film and Television Office has opened a new online forum for the state’s film industry and anyone interested in film and television production in New Hampshire at www.nhfilmforum.com.
The New Hampshire Film and Television Office Online Forum is a web-based community geared toward networking and supporting New Hampshire's film industry professionals, students, and amateurs as well as those outside of the state who maintain a connection to New Hampshire and film and television production. Forum members are able to post news items and opportunities, buy, sell or trade production equipment, list upcoming screenings, share thoughts and opinions about film and television production in New Hampshire, as well as receive timely e-mail updates from the Film Office regarding programs, events and special announcements.
“We’re thrilled to be able to provide a way in which our filmmakers and craftspeople can network with one another,” says Van McLeod, Commissioner of the Department of Cultural Resources. “This online forum will be a nice companion piece to our quarterly filmmaker roundtables.”
Matthew Newton, Film Specialist and manager of the New Hampshire Film and Television Office adds, “As we move forward in our efforts to promote the state as a film-friendly destination, it is important that we get our state’s industry all on the same page with what we’re doing and have everyone talk to each other. Part of the promotion involves marketing our diverse locations, but it always comes down to people. So, it’s vital that we keep our industry connected.”
The online forum is a free service, although registration is required. The forum is moderated and all serious participants are welcome.
The New Hampshire Film and Television Office, as part of the New Hampshire Department of Cultural Resources, works to expand business activity and employment throughout the state by acting as a liaison between the film industry and an established network of government agencies, the state’s film industry workforce, and local property owners. The office is responsible for location assistance, public relations, and general production support in an effort to broaden the cultural and economic impact of film and television production in the state.
