2012 NH High School Short Film Festival

ABOUT THE FESTIVAL

The New Hampshire High School Short Film Festival, a new student initiative presented by the New Hampshire Film and Television Office, was created in 2007 to give high school filmmakers around the state the opportunity to create and showcase short films on the big screen in statewide competition, while fostering the educational benefits of cinematic storytelling.

The New Hampshire High School Short Film Festival, dedicated to supporting and educating student filmmakers, will soon offer a comprehensive online resource for New Hampshire film students and their teachers or advisors. It will be a web-based companion piece that will provide students with filmmaking tips, forms and other documents to help ensure that their efforts in film will not only be approached creatively, but professionally.

JUDGING & AWARDS

All films, regardless of type or genre, will be adjudicated on the filmmakers’ ability to effectively captivate their audience through the craft and art of cinematic expression. The New Hampshire High School Short Film Festival will award the following:

  • One (1) Jury Award (or Best Film of the Festival)
  • One (1) Jury Award Runner-Up (2nd Place)
  • Three (3) Jury Award Finalists

The 2012 New Hampshire High School Short Film Festival will be keeping this year's screening program to two hours. Films submitted will be previewed and ranked by our selection committee and the top-ranked films will be slated to screen in the two-hour block.

The Jury Award and Jury Award Runner-Up winners will be screened at the 2012 New Hampshire Film Festival in Portsmouth (www.nhfilmfestival.com) and the SNOB (Somewhat North of Boston) Film Festival in Concord (www.snobfilmfestival.com).
