Secure Data Access
The NH EPHT secure portal provides controlled access to unsuppressed, county level, public health network, and hospital service area, health outcome data for the following indicators: asthma hospitalizations, heart attack hospitalizations.
These indicators normally contain data values that are suppressed to protect the confidentiality of private health information in small populations. For example, displaying that two asthma hospitalizations occurred among elementary age girls in a small community during a particular year might be enough information for some people to reveal the identity of the two girls. The values for asthma hospitalizations in that county would be suppressed on our public data portal. However, approved public health practitioners, researchers and other health professionals who need access to suppressed data to perform their job duties to improve and protect public health may view unsuppressed information on our secure portal.
Obtaining Secure Access
To obtain access to secure data through the NH EPHT portal, you must complete a NH EPHT Secure Portal Authorized Secure User Account form below. In the agreement you will need to provide information about your organization and position, your supervisor/professor/project sponsor, and description of your project, including aims and methods. After an initial screen by the NH EPHT team, the agreement will be sent to the appropriate data stewards for review. The data stewards will approve or deny your request or ask for additional information. If your request is approved, you will be sent an email notification containing your user name and password. When you log into your account, the indicators that you have been granted secure access to will become visible. If your request is not approved, or additional information is required, you will be notified by email.
