Long Range Transportation Plan

In 2004, the NH Charitable Foundation and NHDOT created the Community Advisory Committee (CAC).This committee then developed New Hampshire’s first-in-the-nation citizen’s transportation plan, which has drawn attention from transportation planners and activists across the country. P&CA staff provided support to the CAC, with the CAC completing their version of the plan in June 2006.

Since early 2008, NHDOT has been developing a Long Range Transportation Plan that responds to the recommendations of the CAC and sets the strategic direction plans to move forward in the future.

The plan was first released for public comment in spring/summer 2008, and has been extensively reviewed by DOT, the Legislature, FHWA, and others for input.

Below is a link to the LRTP, dated July 2010. This version has been determined to meet the Federal requirements for a Statewide Long Range Transportation Plan.

Comments are always welcome on the plan, with an emphasis on comments between now and September 30th. All comments will be responded to, and as appropriate will be addressed in the future revisions of the plan.
