This video shows a computer generated simulation of how traffic would pass thru the toll plaza during the peak Sunday traffic volume period in 2010 if the plaza is reconfigured to allow for highway speed EZ-Pass or Open Road Tolling (ORT). In the new configuration there will be 6 conventional toll lanes in both the North Bound and South Bound direction that will except Cash or EZ-Pass with two lanes for ORT in each direction. The ORT lanes will be separated from the North Bound and South Bound directions and also the cash lanes by a concrete median barrier. Yellow cars indicate cash paying customers, while blue cars represent EZ-Pass customers. As expected traffic moves significantly better with very minor back ups in the cash lanes and with no back ups in the ORT lanes.
