Routes are rolling to moderately hilly and often wind along lake shores with breathtaking views of panoramic areas.

Traffic

Traffic varies from light to moderate in the spring and fall, but is heavy during the summer vacation season. In the Rochester area, the traffic is heavy year round.

Services

Services in this part of New Hampshire are scattered in the more rural areas but much more frequent along popular routes, urban areas and tourist areas.


Highlights

Teaming with over 273 lakes and ponds, the Lakes Region of New Hampshire is set against a backdrop of rolling hills and mountains. Roads snake along lakes, offering breathtaking views and great cycling. The central feature of this region is Lake Winnipesaukee.

The new revised NH Bicycle maps are now available on line. Maps are in Adobe Acrobat® PDF format. Each region has 2 Adobe files. The first is the map with suggested bicycle routes and the 2nd is the back of the map which has detailed information for that region. Select either side of the map by clicking on the picture to the left or choose from the list below:

These maps are still being refined. The final printed versions will be available in May 2008.
