Bike Maps | Great North Woods Region
Photos MapTerrain
Routes in this region are generally hilly. Scenery dominated by winding rivers, clear lakes, tree-lined mountains and great expanses of northern forestlands.

Traffic

Many roads in this region, while not yet heavily traveled by tourists, have logging and other truck traffic. Keep this in mind as you travel through this rural area.

Services

Services in this part of New Hampshire are more widely scattered than elsewhere, so make sure you are adequately prepared.

Highlights

This region of the state is the least populated and certainly one of the most scenic. The rugged mountainous terrain of the Presidential Range wanes near Gorham and the state's real wilderness begins. This region is known for its abundant wildlife, especially moose. Don't be surprised if you see one from the road.

The new revised NH Bicycle maps are now available on line. Maps are in Adobe Acrobat® PDF format. Each region has 2 Adobe files. The first is the map with suggested bicycle routes and the 2nd is the back of the map which has detailed information for that region. Select either side of the map by clicking on the picture to the left or choose from the list below:
