|Work Resumes on US Route 1 Project in Seabrook
Road Reconstruction and Intersection Realignment
The New Hampshire Department of Transportation announces construction work is resuming on improvements to a section of US Route 1 in Seabrook.
This project is widening approximately 1,000 feet of US Route 1 (Lafayette Road) to provide an additional southbound through lane. It begins approximately 500 feet south of the US 1 intersection with Railroad Avenue and Pine Street and proceeds north approximately 1,200 feet.
In addition, Autumn Way will be realigned to intersect Pine Street to provide access to the existing signal at the Pine Street/US Route 1 intersection. The existing Autumn Way intersection with US Route 1 will be eliminated and the existing pavement will be removed. The work on US 1 will include pavement rehabilitation, sidewalk reconstruction, curbing, drainage, and traffic signal upgrades.
Daily shoulder closures and lane closures during off-peak hours will be utilized to complete this work. Some night work will also be required.
American Excavating of Derry, New Hampshire is the contractor for the $1.1 million project, which is scheduled for completion by August 28, 2017.
